Gas system
The Energy White Paper, Powering our Net Zero Future (CP 337), published in December 2020 by HM Government, defines the gas system as: ‘A system consisting of gas producers, refineries, interconnectors, transmission and distribution networks that delivers gas from its original sources to the final consumer (businesses, industry, public sector and homes). As well as the physical infrastructure, markets play a key role in making sure the system balances supply and demand.’
